Labor Day is a celebration of the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States. If you take time to think about the progress we have made over the past century, you will be amazed. It is incredible what can be accomplished when we work together.
Most of us will be grilling in our backyards, heading to the beaches or spending time on the water. Southerners find a way to cope with temperatures that feel like 107 F and humidity at 45%. Shade, icy cold libations and good friends make sweltering times bearable. My dad used to say that you could "cut the air outside with a knife" when the temps soared.
Hang on folks, fall is coming! I hope that you have a wonderful day and kick the week off right!
The Local Vibe will be back next week with lots of news on what's happening in Mobile, Baldwin and Baton Rouge!
