Autumn is in the Air! Let's Celebrate Pumpkins! Support for Local Business Owners, Part 2.

Autumn welcomes the scrumptious aroma of pumpkin combined with a collection of spices that fills my home with an undeniable vibe. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the earthy tones of the leaves changing and the cooler temps that beckon folks to dine outdoors.

Speaking of outdoor dining, Dr. Mike, who owns RedBar Espresso, told me that the restaurant's patio has been a destination for many who want to enjoy his delicious food and soak up some sun. In celebration of the changing season, he is adding some new things to the menu! I can't wait to see what he has planned for us to enjoy! Head over to the Old Shell location this weekend for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or happy hour!

Are you enjoying everything "pumpkin"? I have been experimenting with some concoctions in my kitchen and will be sharing the results with you in this blog!

Pumpkin Theme on YouTube this Week!

This classic Pumpkin Pie recipe filled my home with the fragrance of fall! The mixture of pumpkin, cinnamon, allspice and other ingredients inspired me to venture out and try new autumn recipes. Top this one with a dollop of whipped cream and you'll have a dessert everyone will love. Click here for the simple, yet satisfying recipe.

I had some leftover pumpkin puree and was looking for a unique idea to make. I discovered this Pumpkin Feta dip and decided to give it a try. I did tweak the original recipe a smidge and definitely suggest you top it with chopped walnuts. Wow, what a tasty surprise it turned out to be. The savory dip has just enough sweetness with added honey and is excellent served with celery, crackers or toasted baguette slices. Click here for the recipe & video!

Coming next week...Ahi Tuna Steak!!!

Supporting Local Business Leaders!

(Part 2)

Diane Cashen, owner of Diane Cashen Interiors

I've had the honor of exploring some of Diane Cashen's commercial and residential design projects. She is a professional interior designer based in Mobile, Alabama. This talented female entrepreneur can transform a space into a place that people enjoy being in. Unlike interior decorators, design professionals like Diane have invested time and money in education. She has the ability to work with architects and craftsmen to create functional and beautiful rooms for her clients.

Diane understands the effects of lighting, color, furnishings and textures and how they can be utilized to maximize productivity. I've been working with her for years and I can vouch for the fact that she does extensive research for every client. She uncovers the needs and desires of her customers and uses that information to formulate a design plan that will satisfy. Her goal is for the plan to reflect the personality of the owner while delivering a highly functional space.

Diane prefers for prospective clients to send her a text at 251-545-5688 to schedule a consultation. Read more about this successful, local entrepreneur by clicking here.

Jessica on the phone
Jessica Zoltek, Healthcare Resource Center Mobile

Jessica Zoltek is a licensed insurance agent specializing in Medicare supplements, Medicare advantage plans and other forms of insurance coverage for seniors and disabled individuals. Because she is not a captive agent (tied to one provider), she has the ability to explore all of the options available for her clients.

I have witnessed her grow this rewarding business from its infancy, four years ago, into a thriving and successful agency. She has assisted many friends with their policies and takes customer service seriously.

Annual enrollment began on October 15th and this period allows individuals to make changes to their coverage. Jessica has seen many new developments affecting insurance this year and is suggesting that everyone undergo a benefits review.

To schedule a policy benefits review, give her a call at 251-751-5434. Annual enrollment ends on December 7, 2023.

Clint & Eric
Clint Killingsworth & Eric Ludgate, Ensec Pest & Lawn

It is so rewarding to be out on my daily walk and discover an Ensec Pest & Lawn sign in a neighbor's yard. Ensec Pest & Lawn was founded in 1997 to serve the Florida Panhandle. This family owned and operated company has expanded to the Alabama Gulf Coast and has over 12,000 satisfied customers.

This year has been tough on lawns with brown patches and weeds trying to take over the landscape. Ensec has solutions for whatever challenges your lawn might be experiencing. In addition to lawn care, they offer quick fixes for uninvited "guests". Fire ants, pesky mice, "palmetto bugs" and other pests have been an issue for many folks this year. The team at Ensec is ready to tackle those problems and restore your home to a pest free living space.

Ensec Pest & Lawn is a locally owned and operated business. Clint Killingsworth and Eric Ludgate are two of the partners who take an active role in the daily operations of the company. I met Eric several years ago at a networking function and was impressed with his professionalism.

If you would like to schedule a consultation with Ensec, give them a call at 850-204-3813.

More Perks of Walking!

I found this info-graph from the cdc.gov and wanted to share it with you. I am a huge fan of walking and so are my two fur-kids! I am living proof that being active does affect mood, creative thought and of course, one's health.

Fall is the perfect time to lace up a good pair of sneakers and hit the sidewalk or a local park. Everyday that you commit to being active is a great day for your body! Have fun!

Things happening this weekend!

The Mobile Botanical Garden is hosting their fall plant sale. Click here for the details! This is a wonderful opportunity to add some healthy plants to your home and landscape.
